The Families of the Year Awards program was initiated in 1989 by Family Guidance Center as a way to bring positive recognition to families in our communities. The importance of family and the effort needed from all members to keep a family strong is the focus of this prestigious awards program.
Traditional families, step-families, and single parent f
amilies are eligible for nomination. Criteria include family teamwork, encouraging individual growth, and family involvement in community activities. Nominated families must live in the Birmingham area.
The first ever Birmingham area Families of the Year Awards will be presented on October 29th, 2017 at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The nomination deadline is September 28th, 2017.
