Art to Heart is an 8-week Distance Learning Course offered in partnership with the Early Childhood Educational Department of Alabama Public Television. The 8 engaging episodes that make up the Art to Heart series explore the benefits of using arts in early childhood education. Researchers, educators, and parents explain how developmentally appropriate activities in visual arts, dance, drama, and music contribute to learning and growth from infancy through age eight in all areas of development. The eight episodes take viewers into schools, child care centers, museums, community arts centers, and homes to show young artists at work and to showcase model arts education programs and activities. This course is delivered as a series of 30-minute programs televised over 8 consecutive Saturdays from 7-7:30 am.
