Families in Transition (FIT)

Supporting Families Through Change

Separation and divorce bring big changes to families, and children often struggle with feelings of confusion, guilt, anger, and sadness. The Families in Transition (FIT) Program provides guidance, education, and support to help parents and children adjust to these life changes in a healthy, constructive way.

FIT is not a group therapy program, but rather an educational resource led by trained professionals who help families learn strategies for communication, co-parenting, and emotional well-being. By working together, parents can create a more stable, supportive environment for their children during this transition.

Separation and divorce bring significant changes that require both you and your children to adjust quickly. However, there are steps you can take to help ease this transition for them. When parents can work together to prioritize their children's well-being, it reduces the chances of ongoing legal disputes. To support families through this process, the Families in Transition Program was created as an educational resource. The Court requires participation in this program to help parents and children navigate the emotional and practical challenges of divorce more effectively. Completion of the program is mandatory for both parents and their children.
