Specialized Programs to Meet Your Needs
Our Programs
Community Violence Intervention Program
The Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Program is a city-sponsored initiative designed to reduce fatal and non-fatal shootings in Montgomery through a series of evidence-based interventions. This program fosters safety, healing, and long-term solutions. The CVI Program is designed to help:
- Individuals at risk of involvement in gun violence
- Survivors of violent incidents and their families
- Local communities seeking safety and healing
Coaching For Excellence in Employment Program
Statewide program designed to provide individuals with the needed support that allows them to take advantage of education and job training. Available in the Montgomery, translate skills learned into improved family stability and financial self-reliance by:
- Setting a life plan with attainable action steps
- Pursue education goals
- Prepare for employment through career assessment, job training, and job search
Family Service Centers
Family Service Centers are community hubs offering resources, education, and advocacy tailored to local families. Available in Montgomery, Jefferson, and Lowndes Counties, these centers provide:
- Parenting education groups and workshops.
- Life skills seminars on topics like nutrition, self-esteem, and anger management.
- Computer labs and training classes.
- Career readiness support, including GED classes and job placement assistance.
- Annual community events like food pantry drives.
Parenting Matters Program
The Parenting Matters Program is designed to support fathers in Montgomery, Birmingham, and Lowndes County by providing job readiness training, employment assistance, and parenting resources to help them build financial stability and strengthen their families. Our Program Highlights:

Work Ready! Program
Work Ready! is a four-week, hands-on program designed to help young adults develop workplace skills, secure employment, and start their career journey. Participants receive professional training, industry-specific skills, and job search support, followed by personalized guidance on education, certifications, or direct job placement.
Who Can Apply?
- Ages 16-24, not in school
- Residents of Montgomery, Autauga, Elmore, Lowndes, Butler, and Crenshaw counties
Small Wonders Program
Small Wonders provides in-home support for families caring for a chronically ill, medically fragile, or developmentally delayed child. Serving Jefferson and Shelby Counties, this program helps parents reduce stress and build confidence through guidance in child development, stress management, and positive parenting strategies.

- Parents of chronically ill, medically fragile, or developmentally delayed children
